Dr. Jianping Wang

Welcome to the National Asian Pacific Islander Council (NAPIC) web site. Founded in 2007, NAPIC is an affiliate of the American Association of Community Colleges (AACC). Its mission is to enhance our pluralistic society by advocating and promoting policies that increase access to quality education for Asian/Pacific Islanders in America. While Asian/Pacific Islanders in society is not the only group in need of special attention and assistance in taking advantage of higher education opportunities, this is the group to which our primary attention is directed.  For the same purpose and through various means, NAPIC promotes leadership development of Asian/Pacific Islander administrators in community colleges across the country.

Since the founding of NAPIC, we have championed for greater inclusion of the voice of Asian/Pacific Islanders in the policy development at the national level. We have strengthened the professional network for our members and member institutions. We have developed and will continue to develop programs for aspiring leaders from Asian/Pacific cultural background.

On this site, you will see a list of current NAPIC Board members as well as links to research and organizations relevant to our mission. If you are not a member and are interested in joining us, you can do so by submitting your NAPIC membership form on-line.

We welcome everyone who shares our vision to partner with NAPIC in advancing our cause. We value diverse interests and talents and are eager to embrace diverse ideas. We hope you will join us in this meaningful and important journey to make our society better and more just for everyone.

Thank you for taking the time to peruse our web site and I look forward to meeting you in person and working with you for a great cause.

Respectfully,

Jianping Wang, Ed.D.
President, NAPIC
